Video: King & Queen of the Ring Matches Recap

We cut to a video package highlighting the previous first round matches from last week’s Raw and SmackDown.

In-Ring: Oba Femi, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh

From there, we head to ringside for the arrival of DA RULA to kick off the show! He struts his way to the ring (as one is want to do) as the crowd chant his name. Femi steps through the ropes with a microphone, telling the Paris crowd they’re awesome. He would love to have them exalt him all night but they have business to attend. The crowd says “forget that” (basically) as they go back to chanting his name, much to Oba’s delight.

Oba says they have so much to touch on. First off he talks about how Paul Heyman doesn’t like predictions, he likes spoilers…and Femi has a spoiler for us tonight. He will run through every man in this tournament until he meets the final man, and that man will have fought valiantly…but he will fail, and Oba will take his rightful place as King of the Ring.

He goes on to talk about collecting trophies, but there’s one he has yet to collect…and that is the head of Brock Lesnar. Brock attacked him, got his win, and disappeared as he is nowhere to be seen. Paul Heyman talks about what he unleashed in his big bad Beast, but all Oba has seen the past three weeks is a big, bad b—h. They’re 1 and 1 but Brock will get what’s coming to him.

Oba says he’ll see him down the road, and is interrupted by Dominik Mysterio…who is almost barely audible thanks to the boos raining down upon him from the crowd in Paris. He says Femi is the ruler of nothing, asking how long the “rookie” has been here. Oba mocks the fact that Dom can barely be heard, and Mysterio repeats the question before saying Femi’s been here for a cup of coffee. Dom hypes his accomplishments, calling himself the king of the luchadores before claiming he will be the King of the Ring.

Dom approaches the ring, distracting Femi as JD McDonagh steps in with a chair. He slams it against the back of Oba…who is completely unfazed by it! He punches the chair, sending it into the face of McDonagh and sending him to the outside. He goes after JD but takes a 619 from Mysterio instead…only to catch him doing a “flying nothing” to send him crashing to the mat. Dom escapes the ring, regrouping with JD as Oba says everyone knows Rey Mysterio is Dom’s father…but next week, he’ll introduce Dom to his daddy.

Video: Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Paul Heyman

Commentary talks about what just went down before taking a look at Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker last week, including the moment Breakker speared Paul Heyman through the barricade.

Backstage: Seth Rollins

From there we go backstage, where Seth Rollins addresses what happens before stating that The Vision is in the past for him.

He’s now focused on a man he considered a brother, a man who can’t seem to win titles on his own, a man who can’t seem to beat Seth Rollins when it matters most. He tells Roman Reigns that the World Heavyweight Championship doesn’t belong to him, it belongs to the Visionary…it belongs to Seth (and the crowd finishes the line with “Freakin’ Rollins”).

2026 Queen of the Ring Tournament First Round Match
Alexa Bliss vs. Chelsea Green vs. Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan

Morgan wisely rolls out of hte ring, allowing the other three women to fight it out as the crowd chants “happy birthday” to the Women’s World Champion. Green gets sent out of the ring as Bliss goes after Lynch, sending her to the ropes. Morgan tries to take advantage with Oblivion but Alexa dodges it, holding the ropes open for a Becky dive onto the champ.

Bliss gets taken out by Chelsea, who salutes the crowd…only to be blindsided by Becky, who gives a salute of her own as we go to commercial break.

Everyone is back in the ring as Chelsea takes Becky and Liv down, followed by a senton from Bliss. Lynch and Morgan get sent to the corners before Green takes out Alexa, only to be sent to the corner by Becky as she and Liv take turns attacking the former United States Champion. Becky gets blindsided by Morgan before Chelsea takes them both down with a shotgun dropkick, but she gets laid out by Bliss.

Becky takes control, sending Alexa to the corner, but Green knocks her away before going after Bliss in the corner. Morgan takes advantage, sending Chelsea down for a cover only for it to get broken up by Alexa…who makes a cover of her own on Morgan, but that gets broken up by Lynch! She sends Green out before going after Liv, but Bliss pulls her away.

Morgan looks for Oblivion but Alexa blocks it, landing Sister Abigail on the champ instead. Becky connects with a Manhandle Slam on Bliss, only for Green to drop her with a Unpretty-Her and a cover…but Liv sneaks over for a jackknife cover, picking up the win instead!

Winner: Liv Morgan via Pinfall.

Video: Penta, Rey Mysterio

Commentary talks about what just happened before hyping up the coming AAA TripleMania event in September, with the first night taking place in Las Vegas. They then look at the dream match up ahead as Penta defends the Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio, with a video package looking at both men and focusing on the history to be made.

Backstage: Penta, Chad Gable

Backstage, Penta is getting ready for his match when Chad Gable steps in to a nice pop. He talks to Penta about what he did the past couple years. He admits to masquerading as a luchador and insulting an entire culture…and all because he lost to Penta. He talks about it being a great match but he couldn’t take the loss lightly. He isn’t expecting anything from the champ but Chad is here to simply say he’s sorry.

Penta understands, telling Gable it takes a lot to admit you’re wrong…but if you want to do right by lucha libre, you know who you need to talk to. Chad agrees, walking off before we go to commercial break.

Video: WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Saturday Sunday Night’s Main Event is coming to Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday, September 6. (I’m going to assume AEW All Out is that night, or else UFC is running that weekend LOL)

Backstage: Seth Rollins, Montez Ford, The Usos, Jacob Fatu

Backstage, Seth Rollins talks to Montez Ford about helping him out last week when he’s interrupted by The Usos and Jacob Fatu. Jey talks Seth down about what he had to say, hyping up that he’s in the King of the Ring tournament and he is ready to face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Rollins congratulates Jey on his path, but says he’s not talking about the family, just Roman. He then talks some smack about Jimmy not being in the tournament, before Jey tells Fatu to “get this fool”…only for Fatu to walk away.

Video: Sol Ruca, Lyra Valkyria

We get a video package hyping up the Women’s Intercontinental Championship match, and that is up next as Sol Ruca makes her way out first heading into commercial.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship
Lyra Valkyria vs. Sol Ruca (c)

The two go at it, trading holds until Ruca takes the challenger to the mat with an arm wringer. Lyra counters out, kicking the champ away to get back to her feet. She blocks a suplex before landing a springboard arm drag…but Sol dodges a dropkick, getting a two count over Valkyria in the process.

This leads to a standstill as both women counter each other’s offense, right up until Sol lands a facebuster X-Pac style…but Lyra rolls out of the ring to avoid a pin. She goes back after the champ, eventually sending Ruca over the top rope to the outside as we go to break.

Both women are back in the ring as we come back, and they trade strikes until Ruca takes control with an uppercut. Lyra fights back with a forearm but Ruca charges into her with a back elbow twice over. She sends the challenger into the corner for a release German suplex, followed by a missile dropkick. She heads back to the corner for a running knee and gets the cover for two. She goes to the ropes but gets intercepted by Valkyria, who hits a leg drop sending her to the mat followed by a running heel kick for a nearfall of her own.

Lyra with a tornado DDT, but Ruca lands on her feet instead. X-Factor is blocked, before the champ is countered on a Sol Snatcher allowing Valkyria to get a two count. Lyra goes for another spinning heel kick, but Ruca counters before landing a Sol Snatcher for the win!

Winner: Sol Ruca via Pinfall to retain the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Sol celebrates the win.

Backstage: The Usos, Jacob Fatu, LA Knight, Alpha Academy

We take a look back at Jacob Fatu acknowledging Roman Reigns as his tribal chief last week on Raw. Backstage, The Usos confront Fatu about not having their back dealing with Seth Rollins. Fatu tells them to stop worrying about Seth Rollins, claiming that LA Knight has a lot to say and is probably still talking about the family.

He walks off as we cut to a shot of Knight making his arrival, and we sneak a peek at Alpha Academy in the background as we’re told we’ll hear from Knight up next.

In-Ring: LA Knight, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso

We get a look at fans signing a mural in support of their favorite Superstars before we head back to ringside, where LA Knight makes his entrance to a big pop from the crowd. We have some trouble with a microphone not getting caught, and Knight tries it again before catching it this time to another pop. Lemme talk to ya!

Knight addresses the KOTR match at SmackDown, bringing up each of his opponents this coming Friday as the crowd chants “Yeah” all throughout. He says normally he’d talk about he’s going to run through everybody and face Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, before addressing the crowd chanting “OTC” by saying he’s got the wool over their eyes. Roman’s empire is crumbling and he is trying to hold onto any bit of power he can, but here on Raw, LA Knight is the chief.

Chief LA Knight is going to go through this tournament and he will face Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, even if he has to go through Jimmy, Jey, Jacob, and John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt. His name is my name too, and he’s going down as well.

He talks about the way Adam Pearce has treated Roman Reigns in recent weeks, and says that Knight may be “Unchosen” but each and every one of these fans chose him. He wishes every man in that upcoming match the best of luck, including Jey…who Knight hopes is able to do what he can on his own, without bringing out his family to help.

This draws out Jey Uso, who completely overtakes the fan support as they “yeet” for the former World Heavyweight Champion. He tells the crowd Main Event Jey Uso is now in their city, before starting to run it back before Knight calls him out for interrupting. Jey says when the family comes calling he answers that call, reminding Knight that yeah, he’s in the King of the Ring tournament, before issuing a “warning shot” ahead of their match on Friday.

Uso starts to leave before Knight stops it, telling Jey he respects that he’s protective over his family, that’s the way a good man should be. He wishes Jey the best of luck ahead of Friday and with all due respect, from the bottom of his heart, man to man…screw your family! This gets Jey heated as he looks to go after Knight…but Jimmy defuses the situation, holding Jey back before they end up walking away.

Backstage: Chad Gable, Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee

Backstage, Chad Gable talks to Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee about what he did the past year or so…but Dragon says they’re cool, and that even though he took Lee’s mask off he at least understands now what the mask actually means. Rey says he understands that Chad was trying to insult lucha libre when this all started, but after that Mask vs. Mask match Gable understands how important the culture really is.

He also tells Gable that there are others he hurt with his words and actions long before putting the mask on, leaving Chad to think on that as we head to ringside.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Rey Mysterio vs. Penta (c)

Show of respect before the two go at it, with Mysterio dropping the champ with an arm drag off the ropes before sending the champ into the ropes. He goes for a 619 but Penta blocks it…but Rey dodges a baseball slide, landing a springboard moonsault that sends him to the floor as we go to commercial break!

Both men are back in the ring now, trading strikes before Penta sweeps the challenger off his feet. Rey is back up already, but sent to the corner before the champ drives his feet into the chest of Mysterio. Rey takes a powder to the outside, only to take a dive from the champ from over the top rope. Penta is the first one back on his feet as the crowd chants “lucha libre” while he brings Rey back into the ring.

He charges into a boot from Mysterio, but responds with a Backstabber in the corner for a two count. He sends Rey to the ropes but takes a running tornado DDT by the challenger, who gets a nearfall of his own. Penta heads to the apron as Mysterio looks for a sunset flip…but Penta blocks it, sending the challenger to the outside. He follows close behind but is kicked away by Mysterio, who lands a modified 619 on the apron before hitting a diving sunset flip that sends the champ into the barricade!

Both men are down and the fan is electric for every moment of it as we head to break.

Both men are back in the ring going at it, with Penta looking for a Penta Driver as…the feed fades to black. I don’t think we were supposed to be back from break yet, y’all lol.

Back at it again, Penta goes for the move once more but the challenger counters out. Mysterio lands a poisonrana that sends the champ into the ropes, allowing Rey to hit a 619 and covers for a two count. Rey lands some shots before hitting the ropes, running into a superkick by Penta…but he lands another ‘rana sending the champ back into the ropes for another 619! He goes up top for a frog splash…into the knees of the champ!

Penta drops him with a Mexican Destroyer to finish things off for the win.

Winner: Penta via Pinfall to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Penta checks on his opponent and friend out of respect, but gets blindsided by Rusev and Ethan Page! They attack Penta and Mysterio, with Rusev looking for the Accolade on the WWE Hall of Famer before Dragon Lee runs down for the save. He sends Rusev to the outside before doing the same with Page, keeping Rusev off the apron with a dropkick.

He looks for a dive but is pulled out by Page, who throws Lee into the announce table. He joins Rusev in beating down Mysterio once more, before Rusev pulls Rey’s mask off! Penta goes to cover him up but is kicked down by Page before Chad Gable runs down to make the save this time. He ends up sending Page and Rusev running up the ramp as Penta and Lee use a towel to cover the unmasked Mysterio…but it doesn’t last long as Gable picks up Mysterio’s mask from the canvas, eventually handing it to Penta to help Rey put it back on.

Big pop for all four men here.

Video: Raquel Rodriguez, IYO SKY

as we cut to a video package highlighting Raquel Rodriguez advancing in the Queen of the Ring tournament and how she wants to take down IYO’s bestie Rhea Ripley to become champion.

They face off next week in a Semifinal match.

Backstage: Talla Tonga

next is our main event as Talla Tonga is seen getting ready before we head to commercial break.

Backstage: IYO SKY

We hear from IYO SKY, who addresses Asuka’s departure from the US before saying she’ll end Raquel’s run in the tournament next week.

Next Week’s Show Card Rundown

Speaking of, on tap for next week’s Raw:

  • Queen of the Ring Semifinal Match: IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez
  • Roman Reigns returns
  • King of the Ring Semifinal Match: Oba Femi vs. Dominik Mysterio

Backstage: Judgement Day

Backstage, Roxanne Perez apologizes to Liv Morgan for not focusing on the bigger picture of the Judgment Day. She hopes Liv (or Raquel) wins the tournament so the Judgment Day can hold all the gold, and thinks the best thing would be for Liv and Rodriguez to face each other…but Morgan cuts this talk off when she sees Dom and McDonagh approach.

Mysterio talks about the plan they had failing, but Morgan offers some reassurance before we head to ringside for our main event.

2026 King of the Ring Tournament First Round Match
Seth Rollins vs. Ricky Saints vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Talla Tonga

Crowd singing Seth’s song as the four men stare each other down. Ricky sends Rollins out of the ring before being sent out by Evans…who is attacked by Talla. Evans fights back, but the tallest Tongan blocks an OG Cutter before dropping Je’Von to the mat. Evans leaves the ring as Rollins comes in, looking to take a crack at the big man.

Chops don’t seem to faze Talla, who drops Rollins to the mat with a shoulder tackle. Evans slides back into the ring and goes after Talla, working with Seth for a double superkick. He’s still on his feet as Saints tries to get involved, eventually pulling Rollins down before sending Evans into a body slam by Talla. Ricky sets up Seth for a chop by Talla, and does the same with Evans before looking for a high five. Talla accepts…and then drops Ricky with a big boot before sending him out of the ring!

He does the same to Rollins, before picking up Evans and tossing him onto Seth and Ricky on the outside. Talla stands tall(a) in the ring as we go to commercial.

Talla is still in control as we come back, the fight spilling to the outside as Rollins tries to fight back by sending Talla over the barricade. Talla grabs him and Saints by the goozle, but is sent away by a dive from Evans as Ricky and Seth get back in the ring. They trade offense before Seth gains control with a couple clotheslines and a running knee. He follows up with a Falcon Arrow, but Evans cuts off a Pedigree with a Red Dot for a nearfall.

Evans goes up top but gets intercepted by Rollins. He quickly transitions as he hits the ropes, but a hurricanrana gets cut off as Seth goes for a buckle bomb…only for Je’Von to send him to the corner with a rana! Ricky blindsides him, landing a Revolution DDT for a two count. Saints goes up top, but is distracted by Rollins as Evans goes after him. Je’Von slips for a second but recovers quickly, landing a Spanish Fly from the top…only to be dropped with a Pedigree by Rollins!

Cover by Seth, but Talla pulls him off to break the pin. Seth blocks a Talla T-Bomb for some kicks, sending the big man to the outside, but he’s sent out of the ring by Saints. Roshambo by Saints, but Evans reverses and sends him to the outside…and hits a dive to proclaim WE OUTSIDE, sending all three opponents crashing to the floor.

Evans brings Rollins back in the ring, but Saints cuts off an OG Cutter attempt. Talla stops whatever Saints is trying to do on the turnbuckle, sending both men to the mat before Rollins goes after him…but the tallest Tongan brings him out of the ring instead, pulling the cover off the announce table. T-Bomb on Rollins is intercepted by Evans…who gets sent onto the table with a T-Bomb instead! This allows Seth to hit a Stomp on the big man, taking him out of the picture before heading back into the ring.

He blocks a Revolution DDT before landing a Stomp on Saints and goes for the cover…but the ref gets pulled out of the ring by Austin Theory! Out comes Montez Ford to cut him off, brawling with Theory through the crowd as Seth gets caught with a spear by Bron Breakker! Ricky goes for the cover, but in comes Evans to break it up…and he lands an OG Cutter on Saints, with Rollins unable to get up and break the pin before Evans gets the win!

Winner: Je’Von Evans via Pinfall.

Ya boy is indeed bouncy, and more to the point he bounces on to the next round of the King of the RIng tournament as he celebrates in the crowd to bring Raw to a close.
