Backstage Update on TNA’s Talks with Road Dogg To Join Company for Creative Team Role

As noted before, TNA Head of Talent Relations and booker Tommy Dreamer departed from TNA Wrestling this past June as part of a larger workplace reductions taking place within the company. TNA has held talks with former WWE SmackDown co-lead writer and WWE Hall of Famer Brian “Road Dogg” James to be Tommy Dreamer’s potential replacement in their creative team.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that talks between Road Dogg and TNA have “stalled.”

Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that Dogg has yet to make a deal and the two sides do not seem to be close to a deal being made.

TNA’s creative team is currently co-lead by Hunter Johnston, former ROH wrestler and booker Delirious, and Eric Tompkins, TNA Vice President of TV Production and Executive Creative Director.
