WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that one source spoken to within ESPN stated that they currently expect one of the first-hour windows matches for WWE’s SummerSlam 2026 event on August 1-2 to be the WWE Intercontinental Championship match of Chad Gable vs. Penta (c).
In regards to potential unannounced matches for SummerSlam, it was reported that those spoken to within WWE stated that WWE officials had plans at one point for The Vision (Austin Theory & Bron Breakker) to defend their WWE World Tag Team Championshop at the event.
It was reported that plans for this potential match has not been finalized internally at the moment.
