Original Plans for Rhea Ripley for WWE Night of Champions 2026
As noted before, WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has been out of action for WWE since this past May’s Clash In Italy event due to a knee injury. Ripley’s injury caused WWE to make significant changes to their original plans for both their SmackDown Women’s division and Night of Champions 2026 event.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials original plans for Ripley prior to her injury was for her to defend her WWE Women’s Championship against either Jacy Jayne or Alexa Bliss at Night of Champions
Chad Gable Comments on His Current Goal of Wanting To Become WWE Champion
A recent episode of 1305 KISSFM’s The Hot Tag podcast featured Chad Gable as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Gable’s thoughts about his current goals and ambitions for his WWE career after cementing his legacy with his Mask vs. Mask match at this past June’s AAA Noche de Los Grandes 2026 event.
“So, I think it’s fairly clear to everybody that I’ve been this successful tag team wrestler and almost categorized as that. I have Tag Team Championships on every level. I’ve made it very clear in the past that I’m capable of more than that and I think what the mask vs. mask match did was show the world those weren’t just words. That I’m now backing it up and my intention going forward is to continue to do that and prove that I’m not just gonna want to hold singles championships going forward. That’s a goal, but, to be the guy, to hold the World Championship, to hold the WWE Championship. I’m capable of that. I know it, and I think people now know it and the right people now know it.
It’s also on me to continue this momentum to carry it forward. I think we got a great thing going on with me kind of making amends with these characters and demons from my past and my own demons that I’ve gotta rectify and I think people are engaged in this story again. It’s emotional and the stuff with Otis, like whether or not I’m gonna be able to get an apology across to him. It’s resonating, and it’s on me to continue it and keep it going because all too common is you have this one great moment and this great mask vs. mask match that everybody was critically acclaimed, commercially acclaimed but, I’ve never been about the achievement and the end goal.
For me, it’s always, like, process-driven, which is great because right now, we are very specifically in a process of me being able to either bridge that gap and become the next-level performer that I’ve always said I wanna be, or I can rest on my laurels and say ‘Hey man, I had this awesome match. Let’s chill out for a little bit but, no thank you.’”

Seth Rollins Comments on His Long-term Rivalry with Roman Reigns in WWE
A recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show featured Seth Rollins as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Rollins’ thoughts about his rivalry with Roman Reigns and how it has been “pretty wild” him and Reigns have only had three singles matches against each other despite both of them have been in WWE for a long time and been prominently featured in the company.
“One on one, Roman and I have only had, I want to say this will be our third singles pay-per-view match ever. We had one in 2022 at the Royal Rumble, which I won. Then we had one in 2016 at Money in the Bank, which I also won. But for two guys who’ve been as prominently featured as we are in WWE for the last 14 years, to only have three is pretty wild, I would say.”
