This past Sunday’s AEW Redemption event in Montreal, Quebec, Canada featured The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) defeating Will Ospreay & Jon Moxley in a tag team match.
A recent episode of the Being The Elite series on YouTube featured Matt Jackson revealing that him and Nick were very hands-on and influential with their match against Ospreay and Moxley happening at the event.
“I don’t like to, you know, give away too many secrets nowadays but Nick (Jackson) and I were very hands-on and influential with this match happening so there’s a lot of ownership here at stake personally for me. I really want this to succeed. Not that I don’t always want everything to succeed but, even more so today.”
Nick also gave his thoughts about him dealing with lingering head-related issues since this past June’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 event and how he took multiple concussion tests following his tag team match at Redemption.
Nick Jackson – “I feel pretty good now, now that it’s been what? Two hours? I went to the trainer’s room of course, obviously, and so, I had to take multiple concussion tests and I passed so that’s good. They said I definitely had my bell rung. But I had a lot of dizziness.”
Matt Jackson – “You just had the whiplash thing like a month ago.”
Nick – “The last pay-per-view — you could even show this… I landed right on my head in — where was that? San Jose? Landed right on my head and that was not a concussion or anything. It was considered a whiplash injury so, ever since then though, I’ve had these weird effects where I feel foggy — because of the neck. I didn’t have any vision issues or any of that but, today, it felt very similar to what I was experiencing last month. But now I feel a lot better. The doctor said that I’m probably not healing fast enough because I’m not having enough carbs.”
Matt – “Well, he’s having zero carbs. He might be too dehydrated.”
Nick – “Yeah, and I definitely felt dehydrated today so, I’m partially to blame for that.”
