As noted before, the July 29th AEW show in Detroit, Michigan featured the Bang Bang Gang revealing in a backstage interview segment that Jay White had suffered an injury during the Double Chain match against The Dogs at this past July’s Redemption event. Despite his injury situation, White was officially announced to be among the competitors in AEW’s upcoming Continental Challenge Cup tournament.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources confirmed that White was banged up after his Double Chain match at Redemption.
Meltzer reported that the reason why White was announced for the upcoming Continental Challenge Cup tournament was due to AEW officials had only expected him to be out of action for about a week.
