Backstage Update on WWE & Disney’s Talks For “Special Events” In 2027

As noted before, TKO COO Mark Shapiro revealed during a recent Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026 event that WWE is currently in talks with The Walt Disney Company to hold “special events” together in 2027.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE’s interest in working with Disney predates their Premium Live Events deal with ESPN in 2025.

It was reported that the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex has been recently discussed as a potential home for WWE events, festivals, and larger fan experiences.

It was also reported that WWE officials have also considered concepts similar to ESPN Fan House to potentially give fans another type of interactive fan experience for their major shows.

One source spoken to reportedly stated that a WWE-themed Disney Cruise Line experience could eventually make business sense to do. It was reported that this was something described by the source as specifically being speculation and not something currently confirmed as being in development by both companies.
