Kevin Knight on AEW Has “Two People On Our Minds” Ahead Of 9/9 AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart Show

NBC’s 11Alive News held a recent interview with “The Jet” Kevin Knight. One of the topics discussed included Knight’s thoughts about what the late “The Butcher” Andy Williams meant to AEW and the company’s plans to honor him at this Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart show in Athens, Georgia in some way.

“You know, I never got to meet Andy Williams. He was there before I got to AEW. But from all the stories that I’ve heard, everything that I’ve seen on social media, he was a lovely guy. Nobody had anything ever negative to say about him. He was just such a creative and inspiring person from what I can sense. And I really wish that I could have met and connected with him. But again, we have two people on our minds going into tomorrow’s show, and it’s going to make it that much more special.”

Wednesday’s show at Akins Ford Arena will see Knight & Kyle Fletcher take on The Young Bucks in a tables match. Rebel herself — who is celebrating her 48th birthday today — is set to make an appearance for a Waiting Room segment with Britt Baker, Persephone, and Hikaru Shida.

Knight also gave his thoughts about how everyone on the card is determined to make this upcoming show a special event for Rebel.

“We’re going to go out there and give everything that we got for Ms. Rebel Heart. She was a staple in our company back in the days, even before I got there. So you’re going to see me and my partner tomorrow, Kyle Fletcher, we’re going against The Young Bucks. We’re not really on the same page. But for the sake of Rebel Heart, we’re going to put our differences aside and stake our claim as one of the best tag teams in the company.

And everybody else on that card, whether it’s The New Level, we got Swerve, we got so many people that are willing to just put their life on the line. And we’re going to make it a special one.”

AEW’s upcoming AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart special on September 9th will be held in honor of Rebel and her battle with terminal ALS. This upcoming show will also be helping to raise funds for the honor of Rebel and to raise funds for the I AM ALS organization and Team Gleason.
