Backstage Update on Tessa Blanchard’s Status With MLW

As noted before, former TNA and current CMLL talent Tessa Blanchard had recently claimed that she had signed a contract with Major League Wrestling and was scheduled to make her official debut appearance for MLW at this year’s Fightland event and MLW Fusion tapings on September 12 in Charleston, South Carolina. CMLL had recently clarified that Blanchard’s status with MLW was only limited to her scheduled appearance. CMLL also recently announced Blanchard will be competing at their Sabados De Coliseo show on September 12 resulting in her no longer appearing for MLW that night.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that while MLW did not respond when asked for a comment on the situation, the general consensus making the rounds is that this was not an issue on Blanchard’s end but instead CMLL had pulled her booking.

Johnson reported that the reason for CMLL’s decision to pull Blanchard’s booking with MLW is currently not known despite MLW being allowed to regularly book CMLL talents for their shows.

RevPro Owner Andy Quildan Comments on His Decision To Not Air Leon Slater Match From RevPro 14th Anniversary Show On MyAEW

As noted before, this past August’s 14th Anniversary show for Revolution Pro Wrestling in London, England was notable for Leon Slater’s match against Liam Slater not airing on the MyAEW broadcast stream of the show. RevPro owner Andy Quildan stated to the Wrestling Observer that he was the one who made the decision and not TNA Wrestling nor TNA President Carlos Silva to pull the match from the live broadcast on MyAEW due to him wanting to avoid any problems since it involved a TNA contracted wrestler.

Post Wrestling held a recent interview with Quildan. One of the topics discussed included Quildan’s thoughts about his decision to pull the match from the show’s live broadcast on MyAEW and his belief that he might have made the wrong call with the benefit of hindsight.

“I’m not sure, to be honest. I was trying to make everyone’s life as easy as possible. My role, as an independent wrestling promoter, has always been to get the match in the ring to try and have foresight. You try to envision every single problem that could occur before it becomes a problem. And the last thing we want is for anything to become an issue on the day, or post-show, or anything like that. And it’s crazy; with the benefit of hindsight, maybe we did the wrong thing, because that almost created more attention on the situation. I think, as we do with everything, we have to learn, we have to evolve, we have to adapt and move forward.”

Quildan also gave his thoughts about how he wants RevPro to maintain their good relationship with all promotions.

“I don’t want to be involved in any wrestling politics. I always say, we are open to do good business with anyone. I know in business it’s almost impossible, especially when there’s so much tribalism that goes around, but I want to be on the good side of everyone. And I want everyone to know that when they do business with us, we will do good business and we will try and do best by the company, and I don’t want anything to be received as, we’re trying to sneak people into places.”

West Coast Pro Wrestling announced that Maya World will be making an appearance for the company at their West Coast Pro 8 event on November 13 in San Francisco, California.

Stardom announced that Jimbo Bonji has officially joined the company as the newest member of their English language commentary team. It was announced that Bonji will be making his commentary debut for the company at their Stardom to the World 2026 event on September 12 in Yokohama, Japan.

CTV announced that Taya Valkyrie is among the cast for the upcoming fourth season of reality competition series The Traitors Canada, which premieres on September 21 on the network.

Orange Crush announced that they have launched a new series on their official YouTube channel called ORANGE CRUSH CRITERION which was stated to be “a curated selection of the best matches” from their PRODUCE Wrestling events.

Pro Wrestling NOAH announced that Midori Takahashi will be undergoing surgery for a dislocated shoulder injury. It was also announced that Takahashi will be out of action for the time being as a result.

Over The Top Wrestling recently announced that Malakai Black and Xelina, former Aleister Black and Zelina Vega in WWE, will be making an appearance for the company at their BlackEND event on October 24 in Dublin, Ireland.

Marigold recently announced that Nao Ishikawa has been pulled from the remainder of this year’s Dream Star Grand Prix 2026 tournament due to health-related reasons.

Mystery Wrestling recently announced that they will be holding their Mystery Wrestling 31 event on November 28 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This will be Mystery Wrestling’s debut event at the venue.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling recently announced that Breeze, former Tyler Breeze in WWE, will be making his official debut appearance for the company at their Sacred Ground event on September 11 in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada. It was announced that Breeze will be facing off against Stu Grayson for the Interim MLP Canadian Championship at the event.

Former TNA and current Maple Leaf Pro and indies talent PCO announced on Twitter that he recently underwent neck surgery.
