Ricochet Reflects on Emotional AEW Tribute Match With Will Ospreay for PAC

As noted before, PAC, real name Benjamin Satterley, passed away on September 27 at the age of 40. AEW had dedicated the September 30th AEW Dynamite show in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in tribute to the late Satterley. This event was notable for featuring a singles match between Will Ospreay and Ricochet and for Ospreay performing a Black Arrow in tribute to Satterley.

Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown on SI held a recent interview with Ricochet. One of the topics discussed included Ricochet’s thoughts about how him having a match to prepare for gave him something to focus on during AEW’s show and helped him get through an emotional time following the death of their friend.

“Honestly, the match kind of helps you

The match helps the day go by, because without having to think about your match, you’re stuck thinking about sad times, basically. At least for me specifically, having something to put my mind toward helped. You don’t turn off your emotions, but you have to focus on this, or otherwise you could get hurt. Having something like that to focus on for the day kind of helped.”

Ricochet also also gave his thoughts about how quickly he and Ospreay were able to put the match together.

“It’s kind of criminal how quickly he (Will Ospreay) and I got all that together. It’s kind of criminal how quickly we were like, ‘Oh yeah, okay, well, I guess that’s it. I’ll see you later.’ Because we work so well together, and we just knew Ben so well. It was about going out there and putting on for the people we knew were going to be there and appreciate it.”
