Backstage AAA News – Rey Mysterio & Alberto Del Rio

— Rey Mysterio appeared at last night’s TripleMania event, via video package. Mysterio, who is still under a WWE contract, stated that he wanted to celebrate AAA’s anniversary and told the fans he would see them soon. The video faded out and a graphic that read “#FREEREY” then appeared. As of this writing, it is believed that Mysterio is still under contract to WWE until the spring of 2015, and that he and the company have been at odds for some time.

— Alberto Del Rio made his advertised appearance on the show. He cut an anti-WWE promo, noting that he had to deal with racism in the company. There was then an angle with he and his father, where they were interrupted by a group of heels. Father and son stood tall and ran off the heels.

— Jeff Jarrett missed the show. This happened because his flight from Nashville to Dallas was diverted due to storms and then flights to Mexico were canceled. On Twitter, Jarrett said that it was the first time he had missed a booking due to weather.

— Ricochet missed the show as well. He worked House of Glory last night, and then rushed to JFK airport (30 minutes from the venue) to catch a flight to Mexico. Ricochet missed his flight by “five minutes,” and then couldn’t make the show.
