Global Force Wrestling announced on Monday that Jeff Jarrett will be returning to NJPW on October 13th at the “King of Pro-Wrestling” event. The announcement hyped Jarrett’s joining of the Bullet Club at G1 Climax in August, where he appeared at the invitation of NJPW board chairman Naoki Sugabayashi. After signing the agreement to exchange talent and co-promote some major events, Jarrett appeared later during the event after a match between IWGP heavyweight champion A.J. Styles and Tanahashi. With Styles and the rest of the Bullet Club administering a post-match beatdown to the Japanese star, Jarrett looked as though he was breaking up the melee. But, he pulled out a guitar with the words “Bullet Club” on the back and proceeded to smash it over Tanahashi’s head and reveal his allegiance to the group.
Jarrett said of the incident, “It was a business trip, and I took care of a lot of business. Not only did I seal a deal for Global Force Wrestling with the hottest promotion in the Eastern Hemisphere, but I aligned with the biggest thing going in this business. It’s important for GFW fans to see us get involved with the best talent in the world. The Bullet Club certainly qualifies, and I’m looking forward to what we have in store for The King of Pro-Wrestling show.”
At the show, AJ Styles will defend the IWGP title against Tanahashi while the rest of the Bullet Club will also be in action.
