Update: WWE SmackDown Leaving Friday Nights?

Syfy issued a press release yesterday, announcing that the 12 Monkeys TV series will debut on Friday, January 16th at 9PM ET. That is a Friday night, and obviously during the traditional SmackDown time slot. While technically not a confirmation, it would appear that the previous reports of SmackDown moving off of Friday nights (and likely to Thursdays) is coming true.

SmackDown looked to be moving to Thursday night here in October, but SyFy re-shuffled their schedule and it stayed on Friday night.
