The New Japan Pro Wrestling streaming service, New Japan World, is off to a good start as far as subscriber numbers go. Through three weeks, the service currently has around 10,000 subscribers. New Japan’s Takaaki Kidani had previously stated that the goal for year one was 30,000 subscribers worldwide.
The service costs 999 yen ($8.28 US) and not only includes an OnDemand library, but also a live streaming of all of the major (formerly iPPV) New Japan shows along with several small shows being streamed. The January 4th WrestleKingdom 9 event will be streamed on the service, with Japanese commentary.
