Forbes reports that tickets for the Royal Rumble have hit a four-year high (at least) on the resale market. The site notes that secondary market tickets have a $518.28 average price, making them the most expensive WWE resale event since event tickets aggregator TiqIQ began tracking the market in 2010. The previous high was the 2014 Royal Rumble at $419.65.
The site notes a few potential factors for this. The first is that the Philadelphia setting is likely pushing prices up, as the city is an extremely devoted one in terms of wrestling fandom. It also makes note of John Cena’s match with Brock Lesnar and the intrigue of the Royal Rumble match itself, particularly the fact that the only two names announced are big names in Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan. The cheapest resale ticket currently available is $256, which is more than the average price for all but four other WWE PPVs over the last five years.
