— Scott Siegel, who played the drug dealer for Mickey Rourke’s character Randy the Ram in The Wrestler, was sentenced today to 63 months in prison for possessing and distributing steroids and assaulting law enforcement officers in February 2009. Siegel entered a guilty plea to the charges in October. Siegel was arrested on February 18 last year after a car chase which saw him ram several police vehicles during the pursuit through Westchester, NY. He was caught in Eastchester after abandoning his SUV and attempting to flee on foot. Barry Levin, Siegel’s lawyer, claims his client acted out of fear. Authorities alleged that Siegel had over $100,000 in cash and 1500 bottles of anabolic steroids stored between two homes shortly after he was arrested. In a 2009 interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Mickey Rourke said that he and Darren Aronofsky discovered Siegel in a club and offered him the role, although he had no previous acting experience. Rourke added that Siegel had landed two further roles since The Wrestler.
