Vince McMahon reportedly changed the commentary team on the fly on RAW in San Jose. Byron Saxton was set to replace Michael Cole, JBL and Booker T after Brock Lesnar destroyed everything following his segment with Seth Rollins.
The original plan was for Saxton to call the entire episode, as he did for the next three segments. When WWE went to commercial during the Cena/Ambrose match, McMahon sent out Jerry Lawler to “bail out” Saxton. Lawler normally isn’t at RAW since he went to SmackDown, but he was at this one due to being at WrestleMania the night before.
Booker T and JBL are set to return as soon as next Monday’s RAW. There’s no word on how long they’ll keep Cole off of TV.
