In an interview with The Associated Press, Billy Corgan and Dixie Carter spoke about Corgan’s new TNA role as a senior producer of creative and talent development. Here are highlights:
Corgan on what he’s bringing to TNA: “I’m not here as celebrity. I’m here as a skilled person that brings a lot of experience to the table.”
Carter on how often Corgan will work with TNA: “This won’t be a side job. I talk to him more and we correspond more than most of my employees here.”
Corgan on if he’ll be an on-air character: “I don’t need fame. I have plenty of fame. It’s really about the talent.”
Corgan on how TNA can be different: “We need stars that are wholly identified with TNA only and maybe telling the types of stories that maybe have a different edge to them so that people will identify them as TNA-type stories.”
