We are sad to report today that Michael “Trent Acid” Verdi was found dead this morning. He was found by his grandmother at his place of residence in Philadelphia. He was only 29.
The early belief is that his death was drug-related, but nothing has been confirmed at this time and we’d rather not speculate until we get it confirmed.
At one time, Acid was considered a can’t miss prospect from the Philadelphia independent scene, and mainly worked out of Combat Zone Wrestling, but also spent time in ROH. Acid had personal issues and had previously been arrested and jailed on drug charges. Acid was a member of the ‘Backseat Boyz’ tag team with Johnny Kashmere. Drug problems kept him from advancing past the independent level. Many always thought he could have been a huge star one day.
We’re told he had just gotten out of rehab a few days before his death according to friends. He had been arrested on April 2nd on charges of possession of heroin.
On behalf of everyone here on this website, I would like to extend my condolences to the family, friends and fans of Trent Acid.
