Here are some additional details on WWE firing Executive Vice President of Content Lisa Lee Fox. She worked for the company since 1995 and reported directly to Vince McMahon and Triple H. She had been the point person in WWE’s bid for the old Paul Boesch Houston Wrestling tape library. The NWA’s Bruce Tharpe eventually purchased the library, and it led to them starting their own streaming service, with the Boesch library as it’s centerpiece.
While WWE doesn’t look at the NWA as competition, they were not happy that they lost out on a tape library, especially one that led to the start of a streaming wrestling service that features big name matches from the past.
