— According to The Memphis Commercial-Appeal, Jerry Lawler has filed a lawsuit against former Memphis Wrestling promoter and announcer Cory Maclin in regards to the trademark of Memphis Wrestling. According to the lawsuit, Lawler claims, “Mr. Corey Maclin’s direct actions that fraudulently conveyed upon Jerry Lawler’s trademark and copyright interest ‘Memphis Wrestling’ in the intangible product.” Maclin, a Democratic candidate for Memphis County Clerk, says that the lawsuit is politically motivated, due to Lawler supporting Republican Wayne Mashburn for the same position.
