Last year, the people behind the Mid-Atlantic Legends Fanfest announced it would run in Charlotte for the last time this year, before going to Myrtle Beach, SC in March 2016. Now it has been announced they will stay in Charlotte after all. Promoter Greg Price said there was an issue with the planned host hotel at Myrtle Beach. Not only will the Fanfest stay in Charlotte, but it will remain at its usual time, the first weekend in August (August 4-7). He said that any time he tries to move the Fanfest something goes wrong, so he’s just going to keep it where it is.
He wrote on Facebook: “For me, it’s a positive. The few times I’ve tried to move fanfest away from Charlotte, I’ve regretted it after the fact. A couple issues with the Myrtle Beach hotel necessitated the change. I’m a firm believer in “everything happens for a reason,” and am looking at this as an opportunity to expand on something that’s a proven success. The host hotel, Hilton University Place, has always been more than accommodating to our group. In mid-December, folks will be able to begin booking rooms at our discounted group rate.”
There will be a training camp at the event hosted by Dr. Tom Prichard, along with Q&A Sessions, the annual Hall of Heroes banquet dinner and more. You can find more information here.
