The final episode of WWE SmackDown on SyFy hit a near-low on New Year’s Eve. Thursday’s episode brought in 1.658 million viewers and a 0.46 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic, down 27% and 35% from the previous week’s 2.264 million viewers and 0.71 demo rating.
The numbers were the lowest since the Thanksgiving episode, which drew 1.652 million viewers and an equal 0.46 rating. Obviously New Year’s Eve had a major impact on the rating, with college football dominating the night. ESPN owned nine of the top ten cable original shows for the night, with CNN’s live New Year’s Eve show taking the #10 spot. SmackDown ranked eleventh.
