It was announced last night that the WWE Cruiserweight division is being revived and that it will be exclusive to RAW.
According to sources, here have been discussions dating back to 2011 about bringing the division back. For years there had been rumors of a “cruiserweight TV show,” which has now seen life as the WWE Cruiserweight Classic. While not officially announced by WWE, the Cruiserweight Classic will likely be used to crown the new Cruiserweight Champion.
WWE has not made any official announcement, but there were reports over the weekend that the company had signed Cruiserweight Classic competitors Kota Ibushi and Gran Metalik. Following last night’s announcement, more signings are expected.
