Cody Rhodes Faces Kurt Angle Over The Weekend – Recap

NEW ran their biggest show of the year, “Under the Stars” last night in Wappinger Falls, NY with a few first time matches that made me make a three hour drive. Here are the results:

* Wrecking Ball Legursky and Big Ang defeated Adrenaline Rush

* TK O’Ryan defeated Vinny Marseglia, Travis Gordon and Caleb Konley. Really good match with elimination rules and a ton of great exchanges. Gordon has tons of cool spots. Konley and Marseglia looked solid.

* Brian Anthony pinned Dan De Man with a flying elbow.

* NEW Tag Team champions So Over and Velvet Sky (with Hornswoggle) defeated Kamaitachi & Sumie Sakai & Man Scout Jake Manning. Lots of comedy with Manning.

* Jerry Lawler pinned The Brooklyn Brawler with a fistdrop. Brawler came out driven in a golf cart to “No Sleep to Brooklyn.”

* Matt Hardy pinned Sami Callihan. Hardy has Senor Benjamin, Reby Sky and Baby Maxell.

* Vik Dalishus and Hale Collins defeated the Battle Brothers. Ryback came out and destroyed manager Stevie Stamos after.

* In their first ever meeting, Jeff Hardy pinned Jushin Liger with a swanton off the top. The best match of the show with lots of great back and forth wrestling. They showed each other respect after the match.

* Cody Rhodes pinned Kurt Angle with a Crossrhodes in a short but good match. They did all their signature spots.

Overall, a solid show.
