WWE is in the process of finalizing a deal to acquire the videotape library of former WWE developmental territory Heartland Wrestling Association.
The deal would include the footage from HWA’s TV show, which ran for several years locally in Ohio and featured a number of WCW talents who were sent to developmental by WWE after their acquisition of the company in March 2001. The deal would not include the tapes of the Brian Pillman Memorial shows; this is due to the fact that the rights to those events are controlled and owned by the Pillman estate.
Once the deal is finalized, the library would be the final former WWE developmental library that was not already absorbed into the company’s archives, joining Ohio Valley Wrestling, Deep South Wrestling, Florida Championship Wrestling and obviously, NXT.
WWE reportedly has possession of the library, but the deal has not been 100% finalized at this time.
