WWE has recently signed another big star from Japan-based Stardom, according to the Wrestling Observer.
Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported Io Shirai has agreed to a deal with WWE and an official departure from Stardom to be made within the near future. Shirai visited WWE’s Performance Center in March and supposedly had an unpleasant time there due to WWE’s recruiting efforts but in the end, it wasn’t enough to sway her decision away from signing a deal.
For the WWE, signing Shirai was one of their big targets for the upcoming Women’s Tournament while for Stardom, they suffered another big blow with the loss of their top two stars to WWE.
