Mick Foley on the 20th Anniversary of His Hell in a Cell Match Against The Undertaker
Sports Illustrated held a recent interview with Mick Foley and one of the topics discussed involved the 20th anniversary of his memorable Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker.
Foley stated he told Vince McMahon on the day of the event that he already did a walk-through of his match and felt very comfortable with the spots planned for it. Foley admitted he actually lied to Vince and had he done a match walk-through, he would have never agreed to be tossed from the top of the Cell.
“I told Mr. McMahon two of the biggest lies of my life that day. I told him I had been on top of the cell earlier that afternoon, and I told him that I felt completely comfortable up there. Had I gone up there for a walk-through, there would be no twentieth anniversary because I would have realized that getting thrown off was a terrible idea.”
