WWE may be returning to Saudi Arabia less than a week after the women-only Evolution PPV.
The person in charge of bringing WWE into Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Sheikh announced after the Greatest Royal Rumble in April that WWE would be coming back for another show in November in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. According to Dave Meltzer, the date that he’s heard is November 2.
The Evolution PPV takes place on Sunday, October 28, which would mean that the Saudi Arabia show would be on the following Friday. Obviously, women were banned from the last show and there’s no indication that they will be allowed at any future shows, as decreed by the ultra conservative backwards Saudi monarchy that is paying WWE hundreds of millions of dollars.
The November 2 show isn’t confirmed, though. WWE co-president George Barrios said at WWE’s last investors call that the Saudi shows would be an annual thing.
WWE’s contract with Saudi Arabia is for ten years of upcoming shows, so this will be going on for a long time…
