As reported yesterday, Kevin Owens has a legitimate knee injury, which will require surgery. WWE wrote him off of TV on Raw by having Lashley attack his knees and WWE.com announced that Owens “sustained injuries to both knees.”
Owens has actually been working on a bad knee for a while and has obviously been able to wrestle on it, but it appears that it’s gotten bad enough to now require surgery.
Owens will be going in for surgery next week and is expected to be out for four to eight months, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The time depends on the seriousness of the injury, which won’t be known until he goes in for the surgery and the knee is “opened up.” If his knee just needs to be cleaned out, it will be a minor surgery that will likely still keep him out for four months. A more serious injury and major surgery will of course keep him out for longer, with eight months being the expectation.
