More on Impact Wrestling’s Possible New Television Home Update

As noted before, Impact Wrestling officials are currently in the process of finding a new cable network home.

Besides negotiations with TruTV, SyFy, and WGN, Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Observer Newsletter that Impact officials have also been in talks with BeIN Sports. Meltzer also reported Major League Wrestling may be an obstacle to Impact’s chances with BeIN due to MLW’s founder Court Bauer claiming that his company’s contract with BeIN gives them the right to be the only wrestling show on the network in the U.S.

Lucha Underground Update

Neither Lucha Underground’s home network, El Rey Network, nor the company’s original owners have yet to commit any new funding for another season, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer reported that the last round of funding was enough to cover Season 3 and 4 and no announcements have been made yet regarding possible future television tapings.

Kenny Omega HBO Documentary

As noted before, HBO is reported to be releasing a new wrestling-based documentary focusing on Kenny Omega and The Golden Lovers in 2019. In regards to the film’s airing, Post Wrestling’s John Pollock reported that it is currently scheduled to premiere only on HBO Canada and it appears there are no plans at the moment for the film to be released in other markets.
