The Young Bucks and other “The Elite” members appeared to say goodbye to Ring of Honor after last night’s Final Battle PPV went off the air.
The ROH deals for The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes and Hangman Page are up at the end of this year and Final Battle is expected to be their last show in ROH. Marty Scurll’s contract reportedly expires later next year, some time after the ROH MSG show in April.
(Update: The Young Bucks, Cody and Hangman Page have a final scheduled appearance at tonight’s ROH TV taping, PWInsider says.)
The Bucks, Cody, Page, Scurll, Scorpio Sky, Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels went into the ring after the show and Matt Jackson got on the mic:
“Don’t worry, this isn’t gonna be some emotional farewell speech or anything like that. My brother and I started in this company over 10 years ago. Can you believe that? And this past two year run has been the greatest time of my life.”
Matt then thanked Ring of Honor and “everyone in the back,” saying that he loved them, then hinted at their future in All Elite Wrestling.
“Everyone in this ring, all of you [pointing at the crowd]… we’re all elite, right? The timer is ticking! Something is about to go down, I don’t know what. I hope you watch our YouTube series, Being the Elite.
“I’ll tell you this. New York City, WE WILL BE BACK and we’ll see you then!”
