WWE announced that The Honky Tonk Man will be inducted into the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame class.
His first stint in the WWF was from 1986-1991, then he appeared for WWF/WWE on and off until 2013. He holds the record for the longest single reign as a WWF Intercontinental Champion at 454 days, defeating Ricky Steamboat on June 2, 1987 before finally losing to the Ultimate Warrior on August 29, 1988 at SummerSlam.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 6, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
D-Generation X has also been announced as an inductee and The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart, Jimmy Hart) is also rumored.
