Travel Situation
There were several reports of the nightmarish travel situation after WrestleMania ended at MetLife Stadium last night.
Thousands of people were left waiting for trains until past 3 AM ET in the pouring rain. There were also huge lines to get Ubers and surge pricing had people reporting prices over $200 to travel just a few miles.
NJ.com has an article about some of the problems.
NJ Transit blamed WWE for the issues, with a spokesman saying, “The primary factor contributing to the post-event delays was the WWE’s decision to extend the event to 12:30 a.m., which had significant operational impacts on the evening. NJ Transit was not informed of this decision until late last night.”
He added that regulations limited the amount of hours their crew could work, so they were apparently short staffed: “The decision to extend this event resulted in our inability to operate some of those trains due to federal requirements limiting train crew hours.”
Bright Lights
Several people also complained about super bright lights shining in their face for most of the Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles match. People were chanting for the lights to be turned off during the match, then the crowd could be heard randomly popping, which was when the lights were finally turned off.
