Impact Wrestling has been in talks with AXS TV for the last few months about moving their weekly show to the network, according to Dave Meltzer. The story was first reported by Voices of Wrestling and confirmed by Meltzer.
As of now, they are just in talks and it doesn’t appear that a deal has been finalized, Meltzer says.
In May, it was reported that Impact management was feeling “very positive” about landing a new TV deal this year.
Impact moved to the Pursuit Channel from Pop in January of this year in a move that has pretty much been a disaster. Last word was that the show gets about 10,000 viewers on Pursuit (and another ~10,000 on their Twitch simulcast), which is unfortunate since Impact’s product has been vastly improved in the past year or so.
AXS TV airs both NJPW and WOW (Women of Wrestling). Starting on July 13, both shows will air weekly on Saturday nights, with WOW at 8 PM ET and NJPW at 9.
