WWE confirmed today that they will be launching new free and “VIP” tiers for WWE Network “over the next few months.”
“Over the next few months we plan to launch a free tier with select WWE programming and – a few months after that – a VIP tier with additional programming similar to the EVOLVE 10th anniversary celebration that WWE Network streamed earlier this month,” WWE said while showing off the new WWE Network design to media today.
No specifics were announced about the type of content that will be coming to the “VIP tier,” but it’s long been rumored that WWE will add additional content from their indie affiliates like EVOLVE in the US, PROGRESS in England, ICW in Scotland and WXW in Germany. WWE referenced EVOLVE by name, so it seems like the addition of at least some of their content would be a good guess.
No information about potential pricing for the VIP tier was announced yet and there wasn’t much said about the type of content that will be on the free tier.
WWE is launching a new design of WWE Network today on various platforms. Some people should begin seeing the new interface today, but it will be rolled out gradually over the next couple of days so you may not see it immediately.
