AEW had more viewers than NXT for the sixth week in a row, but it was the closest week so far.
AEW Dynamite drew 822,000 viewers on TNT, up from last week’s 759,000 viewers.
NXT drew 813,000 viewers on USA, up from last week’s 580,000 viewers.
AEW was #8 for the day on cable in the 18-49 demographic with a 0.35 rating, while NXT was #12 with a 0.30 rating.
NXT was likely helped by the WWE “invasion” angle that played out on this past week’s Raw and SmackDown. The O.C. were also featured on the NXT episode.
Last week’s shows went up against game 7 of the World Series. There was no major sports competition this week. An NBA game between the Warriors and Rockets on ESPN was #1 and drew 1,491,000 viewers.
