Matt Riddle and Brock Lesnar had what was called a “verbal altercation” and “tense encounter” backstage before the Royal Rumble on Sunday, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet and several other reports.
Details were initially scarce, but a new report by talkSPORT claims to know what was said.
According to talkSPORT, Lesnar approached Riddle backstage and grabbed his shoulder to get his attention, then said, “Kid, you might as well stop saying my name and tagging me in shit because you and I will never work together. Ever.”
Riddle then tried to respond, but Lesnar quickly “kept moving,” getting in his comments and walking off, talkSPORT says, adding that Riddle “was his usual, cool and composed self during the exchange” and “tensions never rose especially high.”
Riddle has talked repeatedly about wanting to “retire” Brock Lesnar and posted this the day before the Royal Rumble:

There are also new reports that Riddle may have some backstage heat, which is reportedly the reason why he was eliminated in just a few seconds in the Royal Rumble match on Sunday, though it’s not clear if the Lesnar stuff has anything to do with that.
