As was first rumored last night, WWE has officially announced that they’re moving this Friday’s SmackDown from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando due to the coronavirus.
WWE released this statement to media:
Friday Night SmackDown on March 13 will air live as regularly scheduled and emanate from WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida with only essential personnel in attendance. The event was originally scheduled in Detroit, Michigan.
WWE denied the rumors last night, but they were true. WWE reportedly finalized its decision this afternoon after some back and forth, according to PWInsider.
There will be no regular fans in attendance and there will be “only essential personnel.”
No word yet on Monday’s Raw in Pittsburgh or other shows going forward, but it’s likely that we’re going to see more and more stories like this.
