The Revival’s WWE Contract Status Update

Rumors of Scott Dawson’s WWE contract expiring earlier this week were debunked by Dave Meltzer in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Despite Dawson tweeting “I AIN’T GOT A DIME, but what I got is mine. I ain’t rich, but Lord I’M FREE!” this past Monday, Meltzer reported that he’s not a free agent yet and his contract is still active for a few more weeks.

Meltzer also reported that neither Dawson nor Dash Wilder have received a paycheck in the past two months due to both of them already surpassing the monetary downside amount guaranteed in their contracts.

The majority of WWE’s main roster talent has a pay structure similar to The Revival where they receive regular paychecks but do not get paid anymore once their downside amount is reached unless they receive extra show bookings afterwards. Some talent like Health Slater, who is rarely booked, reportedly have a different pay structure where their downside is paid bi-weekly and their pay is less dependent on show bookings and merchandise sales.

Though Dawson’s contract expires in April, Wilder’s doesn’t expire until June, which means that it could be months without pay until they’re able to sign with another company like AEW.
