WWE officially confirmed that this year’s SummerSlam will no longer take place at the TD Garden in Boston.

It was clear that SummerSlam wouldn’t take place in Boston back in May, when Boston mayor Marty Walsh said that because of the pandemic, a ban on large gatherings would be in effect in the city until at least labor day, September 7. SummerSlam is scheduled for August 23.
NXT TakeOver, Raw and SmackDown were also scheduled to take place in Boston during SummerSlam weekend and those obviously also won’t be happening.
The obvious guess is that the shows will be moved to the WWE Performance Center, but according to PWInsider, WWE is “considering other potential options, including at least one potential outdoor location” for SummerSlam.
