WWE reportedly had another outbreak of COVID-19 recently take place at the WWE Performance Center, according to Spectrum Sports 360 and Fightful.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that WWE’s testing for the week of September 9th had several results come back positive for the coronavirus affecting both Performance Center recruits and the NXT brand. Sapp reported that this led to “significant changes” made to NXT creative plans and programming over the past several weeks. Several classes at the Performance Center also reportedly were cancelled as a result.
Spectrum Sports 360’s Jon Alba reported that one of his sources stated that some within the Performance Center had become lax with face mask wearing, especially in areas where groups had been congregating. Alba also reported that WWE was still getting positive test results coming back as late as this past weekend.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that the number of positive test results is currently believed to be a low enough number that some within NXT were not even aware an outbreak had recently taken place.
