More on NXT Leaving Full Sail for WWE’s Performance Center
As noted before, WWE’s NXT brand will be moving from Full Sail University to the Performance Center for tapings going forward. This new move takes effect starting with this Sunday’s NXT TakeOver 31 event.
WrestlingInc reported that WWE’s departure from Full Sail was an amicable split with the door left open for NXT’s return to the university in the future.
It was reported that one reason for the move to the Performance Center was due to WWE had not been using Full Sail students to help with the production of their NXT shows since going to a closed set format at the university.
Another reason was due to NXT’s recent COVID-19 outbreaks and Full Sail having recently partially re-opened for in-student learning. The university reportedly did not want to risk students coming into contact with someone from NXT in passing due to NXT using several conference rooms located in buildings across from the NXT Arena during the days of tapings.
NXT TakeOver 31 to Feature Limited Live Crowd
WWE reportedly is planning on allowing a limited live crowd to be in attendance for their NXT TakeOver 31 event this Sunday at their Performance Center.
Fightful Select reported (via 411Mania.com) that the company recently sent requests for friends and family of NXT talent to attend the event to create as much of a live crowd atmosphere as possible for the show.
It was also reported that those attending must pass a COVID-19 test and temperature check and also sign a waiver before being allowed inside the venue. Those attending also reportedly must wear face masks and follow social distancing policies while inside the venue.
NXT TakeOver 31 To Air on WWE Network and Traditional PPV
WWE reportedly will be airing this Sunday’s NXT TakeOver 31 event on both their WWE Network and traditional cable pay-per-view services, according to Fightful.
Fightful’s Robert Defelice reported that Verizon FiOS and Sling TV are currently listing the event to air on their pay-per-view services alongside WWE Network. Verizon is offering the event for $54.99 while on Sling, the event is priced at $74.99.
This will be the first time that a NXT TakeOver event will be available to purchase and watch outside of the WWE Network.
