WWE Fastlane 2021 News & Notes
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that WWE’s Fastlane 2021 event was the fifteenth most searched term on Google on Sunday with around 100,000 searches. Meltzer reported that this might have been the lowest number for a WWE pay-per-view event in company history, not including WWE’s Saudi Arabian shows.
Dave Meltzer also reported that NXT talent Rik Bugez was the person who played the role of “Joe Average” during the backstage Old Spice ad segment featuring the 24/7 Championship. Bugez was formerly known as Eric Bugenhagen in NXT.
This past Sunday’s Fastlane 2021 event was notable for being the first WWE pay-per-view event to air on NBC’s Peacock streaming service. During the show, WWE received a number of complaints from viewers who were having issues with the quality of Peacock’s service and broadcast. The company issued an official statement on Twitter that mentioned any issues with Peacock would be addressed in the future.
Any issues occurring with tonight’s broadcast of #WWEFastlane will be addressed in the future.
