AEW Blood & Guts Notes: Taped Matches, Attendance, Blood & Bruises

Taped Matches

The Blood & Guts match was the only match that took place live in front of the crowd. The other matches were taped on April 22, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The main reason was the logistics of setting up the cage, which would have taken too long for a live show, the Observer says.

The other matches were shown on the screen in the arena and the crowd reactions that went out over TV were the actual live fans reacting to the matches.

Commentary was done at the time of the taped matches.

AEW also offered ticket refunds for anyone disappointed that the other matches would not be taking place live.

The Kenny Omega, Miro and Darby Allin segments also took place live in the arena for the fans in attendance.

Attendance

There were about 1,600 fans in attendance at the show in Daily’s Place, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, with 1,300 of them being paid fans.

Blood

Some wrestlers in the Blood & Guts match were busted open the “hard way,” according to PWInsider.

Some blood was planned for some of the wrestlers, but more wrestlers bled than intended.

Cody Rhodes was also busted open during his match with QT Marshall and that blood was not planned, PWInsider says.

There were no major injuries reported from the show, but lots of bumps, bruises and cuts.
