Velveteen Dream
Velveteen Dream was backstage at Raw last night, according to Dave Meltzer, but obviously didn’t appear on the show. It’s not clear why he was there.
He last wrestled on the December 23 NXT episode, losing to Adam Cole.
Humberto Carrillo
Humberto Carrillo is “okay” after an injury scare during his match with Sheamus last night on Raw, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
During the match, Carrillo did a sunset flip powerbomb from inside the ring to the outside on Sheamus, but landed awkwardly on his feet, then Sheamus’s back crashed down on Carrillo’s left knee.
Carrillo wasn’t able to get up and appeared to be legitimately injured, and the referee stopped the match.
Meltzer says that that was not the plan for the match, so it was a legit injury scare, and added that Carrillo is fine and could wrestle again today if needed.
