WWE Reportedly Not Holding a PPV Event This December
WWE reportedly is currently not planning on holding a pay-per-view event this December, according to the Wrestling Observer.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE officials recently dropped their plans to hold this year’s TLC event, which had been scheduled to take place on December 19th at a location to be determined.
Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE officials had changed their minds over holding an event in December following the official announcement of their upcoming Day 1 event on January 1, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. This reportedly led to WWE officials not wanting to hold this year’s planned TLC event too close to the date of their Day 1 event, which would have been a span of thirteen days.
WWE Reportedly Dropped Plans for The Rock Appearance at Survivor Series
WWE reportedly recently dropped their plans for a potential appearance by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at this year’s Survivor Series event, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported that WWE officials had been working on plans for this year’s Survivor Series event to potentially include a special 25th Anniversary celebration of The Rock’s televised debut in the company. Those plans reportedly were dropped after WWE learned that Johnson would not be able to attend the event due to his filming commitments for the second season of his “Young Rock” television series. Johnson reportedly is currently scheduled to be in Australia for filming purposes on the day of this year’s Survivor Series event on November 21st.
Meltzer reported that another reason for the dropped plans is due to current travel and quarantine restrictions for the coronavirus pandemic in Australia. ohnson and others involved in the upcoming filming reportedly had recently decided to stay in the country starting a few weeks from now until late January 2022.
Cameron Grimes Reportedly Receiving a Character Makeover in NXT
NXT talent Cameron Grimes reportedly will be receiving a character makeover soon, according to WrestlingNews.com.
It was reported that their sources within the company stated that Vince McMahon had issued an order several weeks ago for Grimes to be given a new “presentation of his character” in NXT. The same sources stated that this was the reason why Grimes was not among those drafted from NXT to the main roster as part of WWE’s Draft earlier this month.
