Judy Bagwell, mother of Marcus “Buff” Bagwell and former WCW World Tag Team Champion, has passed away at age 78.
Buff Bagwell’s podcast’s Twitter account announced the news, saying, “It is with a heavy heart we must announce that this past Friday the matriarch of the Bagwell family has passed away. Judy Bagwell was blessed with three amazing children, a loving husband and so many great memories over the years. Thank you to everyone that has asked about her over the years, and have kept her in your prayers during her battle with dementia. Judy Bagwell was 78. RIP Judy 1943-2021.”

Judy Bagwell made several appearances in WCW in the late 90s – 2000, usually involved with her son Buff. In 1998, Rick Steiner and Buff Bagwell won the WCW Tag Team titles, but Buff turned on Rick Steiner, so Steiner had to pick a new partner. He selected Kenny Kaos, but Kaos got injured and Steiner had to pick a new partner, and since he was feuding with Buff and Scott Steiner, Rick picked Judy Bagwell. Rick and Judy were at one point scheduled to wrestle Buff and Scott in 1998, but the match never happened and Rick eventually suffered an injury, which forced him (and Judy) to vacate the titles.
Judy was also part of the infamous “Judy Bagwell on a Pole/Forklift” match between Buff Bagwell and Kanyon in 2000, where if Kanyon won, Judy would have to be his valet. (Buff won the match.)
