As noted before, WWE released several NXT talent and staff from their NXT brand and Performance Center on Wednesday. These releases were done prior to NXT’s New Year’s Evil 2022 special that night which featured Bron Breakker smashing NXT’s previous logo as part of his entrance for the NXT Championship match.
Fightful Select reported that the general backstage reaction to Breakker’s logo smashing spot was mostly negative based on those spoken to within NXT.
These same sources also stated that they viewed Breakker’s spot as being symbolic of Vince McMahon’s current views towards the NXT brand and his recent removal of more of Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s personnel and hires from the brand and developmental system.
