Nick Khan Comments on WWE Not Actively Looking to Sell Despite Interested Parties
Sports Business Journal held a recent interview with WWE President Nick Khan. One of the topics discussed included Khan revealing that WWE is actively not looking to be sold despite there currently being interested parties.
“If it once was a mom-and-pop shop, Vince (McMahon) certainly didn’t believe it was anymore. Part of what I believe he was looking for in bringing in someone from the outside was to make sure the community at large didn’t treat it that way. We believe we’re a global content company.
Vince believed that WWE was at a place where it had earned a seat at the adult table, but others in the company didn’t see it that way.
For the company to be treated the way that Vince, Stephanie (McMahon), [WWE executive] Kevin Dunn and myself and others believed it should be treated in the community, you needed executives who reflected that, who had range, who could get people on the phone and who could be taken seriously by their peers.”
Bruce Prichard Comments on Vince McMahon Running WWE for Another 25-30 Years
A recent episode of the Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard podcast had co-host Bruce Prichard discuss his thoughts on believing that Vince McMahon will likely continue running WWE for the next twenty-five to thirty years.
“I can’t imagine him not doing it. I’m sure he will continue to do it, probably for the next 25 to 30 years. His mom is 101 and still going. He shows no signs of slowing down, at all. He’s a freak of nature and it’s hard to imagine it ever without him and I don’t think we’ll have to imagine it without him for a long, long time.”
